Turmeric Latte

This has become a favorite in our household – a warm drink that can make you feel cozy yet invigorated. Turmeric is said to be anti-inflammatory, an antioxidant, and may help improve energy and brain function, as well as keeping blood-sugar levels steady.  Black pepper helps it absorb into the bloodstream, hence the pinch of black pepper in the recipe. This latte will give that extra boost you need to get through any kind of day (even with kiddos at home).

  • ½ cup boiling water
  • ½ tsp ground turmeric
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • pinch of black pepper
  • 1 cup milk
  • Honey, to taste

    Add spices into a mug.

    To froth the milk, if you don’t have a milk frother, put milk into a microwaveable container (I use a glass mason jar).

    Make sure the lid is on tightly, and shake the milk until it is frothy, approximately 30 seconds.

    Microwave the milk for 30-45 seconds.

    Pour boiling water into the mug over the spices, then pour the frothed milk over it.

    Sweeten with honey to your taste.
