Hooray for pizza! Hooray for pizza parties! Hooray for pizza party cookies! This pizza party- sugar cookie recipe is the easiest of all sugar cookie recipes, and makes for a great pizza party treat, after the actual pizza, or even before the pizza. When you eat these cookies are up to you, but every single nibble of these pizza party cookies will be surely delightful. This simple sugar cookie is easy to decorate, with royal icing, or even eat the sugar cookie without frosting- these cookies are a crowd pleaser! Whatever you are celebrating…be sure to not forget desssert!

- 3 cups of all purpose flour
- 1 Tbsp. of baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 cup of granulated sugar (small granules)
- 1 egg (beaten)
- 1 cup of unsalted butter (softened)
- Splash of milk
- Flour or powdered sugar (for rolling dough)
1Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together in a large bowl and set aside.
2Beat butter and sugar together with a stand, or hand mixer until throughly mixed and light in color.
3Add milk and egg and beat until combined.
4On low speed, gradually add dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, and salt) by spoonful until mixture pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
5Divide and roll dough until about 1/4 inch thick.
6Chill rolled dough on cookies sheets or a flat surface, in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours or until throughly chilled.
7See last step! Do not skip this last step, or the cookies will not hold their shape!
8Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
9Sprinkle surface you are working the dough on with flour or powdered sugar.
10Lay dough out on powdered surface, and use cookie cutter to get desired shape.
11Remove and roll excess dough together and repeat the steps. Refrigerate again if necessary.
12Place CHILLED shapes onto greased or nonstick cookie sheet.
13Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until edges have started to brown.
14Remove pizza cookies from oven and let sit for 2-3 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
15Only ice cookies that have completely cooled to ensure the icing stays in place.
16Ice, sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar, or serve warm.
17Cookies will stay soft for 5-7 days, if stored in an airtight container.
